Castor Aviation Ltd. came about when we saw the need for an elite full-service helicopter flight school in the Mat-Su valley. The name Castor derives from the twin star in the Gemini constellation. Larry used the other of the two start [Pollux] to navigate the night skies with a sextant from Oakland California to New Zealand in a fabric covered fixed wing aircraft known as a [Maule]. After this adventure he started Pollux Aviation Ltd winch has grown over the years to what it is today. Operating 8 R44's and 1 Huey it is the largest Robinson operator in Alaska. When it was decided to start a partner company it seemed only logical to use the twin star's name Castor.
